Israel: Hospital staff found to have links to armed groups
Tel Aviv, July 29 (Hibya) - Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs claimed, citing statements by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, that at least 18 doctors, nurses, and hospital employees in Gaza were identified as members of armed groups.
Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement claiming that hospitals in Gaza have for years been used by Hamas for military purposes.
The ministry claimed that, based on obituaries published by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, at least 18 doctors, nurses, and hospital employees who had previously been presented as healthcare workers were identified as members of those organizations.
The statement argued that this supports claims that Hamas uses civilian healthcare infrastructure for military activities.
