Israel Katz announced that an operation against Hamas in Gaza had been carried out under the instructions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and himself.

Katz stated that the operation targeted Mohammed Udeh, who was identified as the new leader of Hamas’s military wing.

The statement claimed that Udeh had served in Hamas’s intelligence structure during the October 7 attacks and was responsible for the deaths of many Israeli civilians and soldiers.

Katz praised the work of the Israeli military and the Shin Bet internal security service during the operation.

The Israeli Defense Minister stated that those involved in the October 7 attacks would continue to be pursued and that those responsible would be targeted wherever they are.
