Katz: Zamir is the most suitable candidate for IDF Chief of Staff
Jerusalem, August 6 (Hibya) – Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that Eyal Zamir has been nominated for the position of Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
Minister Katz stated that he nominated Eyal Zamir for the role of IDF Chief of Staff and that his proposal was accepted by the Prime Minister and the government.
Katz emphasized that Zamir is a suitable candidate to strengthen the IDF and manage operations in the face of current security threats.
According to Katz, under Zamir’s leadership, the IDF continues its operations in Lebanon, Syria, Judea and Samaria, Gaza, and other regions. These operations reportedly resulted in full control of the areas and the complete elimination of both underground and above-ground infrastructure of terrorists and terrorist organizations.
Katz stated that the Chief of Staff has the right and duty to express his views on appropriate platforms, and that after political decisions are made, the IDF will continue to implement them.
He added that he is responsible for the IDF on behalf of the government and that necessary steps will be taken within this responsibility.
