Kristersson: Sweden continues to stand by Ukraine
Stockholm, February 5 (Hibya) – Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced that in response to Russia’s attempts to create a humanitarian crisis by targeting Ukraine’s energy systems, Sweden has allocated a new support package worth 1 billion kronor, covering energy and heating equipment for Ukraine.
Following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson shared details of the new aid package that will support the Ukrainian people in coping with harsh winter conditions.
Speaking about Russia’s attack strategy, Kristersson said, “By attacking Ukraine’s energy system and heating resources, Russia is deliberately creating a humanitarian crisis for the Ukrainian people this winter. Today I spoke with President Zelensky and informed him about a new support package for Ukraine’s energy sector.”
Providing information on the scope of the assistance, Prime Minister Kristersson stated, “Sweden is contributing 1 billion kronor, including by supplying power plants and heating equipment, to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs. Sweden continues to stand by Ukraine.”
