Lahbib: All parties must respect international humanitarian law
Brussels, 20 February (Hibya) - European Union (EU) Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib said that all parties must assume their responsibilities and respect international humanitarian law.
EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Lahbib announced that they held a productive meeting with Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, and other Rwandan ministers.
Stating that the humanitarian crisis in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo urgently requires a political solution, Lahbib said, “All parties must assume their responsibilities and respect international humanitarian law.”
Lahbib emphasized that their aim is to achieve concrete results and ensure safe and unhindered access to humanitarian aid.
