Metsola: Europe’s first comprehensive defense industry program has been launched
Brussels, October 16 (Hibya) – European Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced that the European Parliament (@Europarl_EN) and the European Council (@EUCouncil) have reached an agreement on Europe’s first comprehensive Defense Industry Program (EDIP).
Metsola stated on her social media account that the new regulation will strengthen Europe’s defense industry, increase support for Ukraine, and contribute to the continent’s security.
The President of the European Parliament said, “The European Parliament and the Council have agreed on a new regulation that strengthens Europe’s defense industry and the security of our continent. I am proud that we have made this important step a reality.”
