Palestine condemns Israel’s decision against Australian diplomats
Ramallah, August 18 (Hibya) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Israel’s decision to cancel the visas of Australian diplomats working on behalf of the Palestinian National Authority.
In a statement, the ministry said that the arbitrary decision by the Israeli Foreign Minister to cancel the visas of Australian diplomats working on behalf of the Palestinian National Authority is strongly condemned.
The statement stressed that the decision is illegal and contradicts the Geneva Conventions, international law, and resolutions of international legitimacy, which do not grant such authority to the occupying power:
“The ministry affirms that the State of Palestine does not recognize this decision and considers the Australian diplomats as representatives and accredited to the State of Palestine. These measures reflect Israel’s arrogance and lack of political balance and will only strengthen the determination of Australia and other countries to remain committed to international law, the two-state solution, and the recognition of the State of Palestine in order to achieve peace.”
