Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Szijjarto said that after he exposed Ukraine’s attack, which cut Hungary’s oil supply, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reacted harshly, telling him that he should complain to Russia.

Szijjarto noted that Russia has been supplying oil to Hungary for decades through the Druzhba pipeline, which is in Hungary’s interest. He said: “Ukraine is attacking this pipeline, and due to these attacks, the oil supply to Hungary is constantly interrupted. This is against Hungary’s interests.”

Szijjarto emphasized that his duty as Hungary’s Foreign Minister is clear:

“Hungary’s interests come above all. Period. And let us not forget: a significant part of Ukraine’s electricity comes from Hungary…”
