Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Cairo.

The meeting addressed bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries as well as developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The parties discussed intensive joint efforts led by the State of Qatar in cooperation with the Arab Republic of Egypt, aiming to reach an agreement that would end the war and humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip, ensure the protection of civilians, and facilitate the exchange of hostages and detainees.

Consultations were also held on various regional and global issues of mutual concern.
