Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Palestinian Foreign Minister Dr. Varseen Agabekyan Shahin received China’s Special Representative to the Middle East, Ambassador Chai Jion, on January 7, 2026. Also present were Deputy Minister Dr. Omar Awadallah, China’s Ambassador to Palestine Tseng Jishin, and Asia-Pacific Affairs Director Jamila Hasan Arikat.

Minister Shahin welcomed the representative and thanked China for its strong support for the Palestinian cause and its commitment to the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination. He also praised the support of Chinese President Xi Jinping for Palestine's full membership in the United Nations (UN) and China's contributions to Palestine’s capacity development.

Minister Shahin expressed his gratitude for the assistance China provided during the war in Gaza, especially its support to UNRWA, and asked the Chinese representative to continue supporting the complete end of the Israeli occupation and support the Palestinian National Authority’s efforts to take responsibility in Gaza.

Minister Shahin conveyed to the representative the current situation in Palestinian territories. He pointed out the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza, the incomplete ceasefire, and insufficient humanitarian aid. He also discussed the settler crimes and expanding settlements in the West Bank, emphasizing that even the establishment of 60 new settlements in the past two years was aimed at changing geography and demographics.

The Chinese representative referred to the historical relations between Palestine and China, noting that trust between the two countries and friendship between their peoples have strengthened. He emphasized that China supports the Palestinian cause, the two-state solution principle, and Palestine’s full membership in the UN, and stands with Palestine in following up on the responsibility of the occupation.

The representative, Jion, noted that China will host the second China-Arab Summit this year and expressed pleasure in the participation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. He also mentioned that China supports the Palestinian National Authority's responsibility in Gaza and will continue its work to mitigate the humanitarian crisis.

Minister Shahin emphasized China’s commitment to the “One China” principle and expressed readiness to fully support China’s efforts to establish the State of Palestine in accordance with international legitimacy decisions.
