Plenkovic: Demographic policies are among Europe’s strategic priorities
Zagreb, October 2 (Hibya) - Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said he discussed demographic issues with Slovenian Minister of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Mateja Ribič, including affordable housing, investment in kindergartens and schools, and support for families.

Plenkovic said demography is one of Europe’s key strategic issues, stating, “We addressed demography as one of Europe’s key strategic issues. This issue is also of particular importance to Croatia and Slovenia.”
Plenkovic said the two countries exchanged experience on measures that could be taken to address common challenges, adding, “Our focus is on affordable housing, investment in kindergartens and schools, and support for strengthening families.”
Noting that Croatia and Slovenia are the only European Union member states to have established ministries for demography, Plenkovic said, “We want to deepen our cooperation on promoting the demographic dimension in European policies and in the EU’s future Multiannual Financial Framework.”
