President Erdoğan and Aliyev met in China
President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who was in the People’s Republic of China to attend the 25th Summit of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, held a bilateral meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, the strategic partnership and areas of cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan were discussed, with an emphasis on both countries’ determination to deepen relations in many sectors, particularly energy and transportation.
President Erdoğan highlighted the importance of Türkiye and Azerbaijan jointly carrying out regional development projects in close coordination in the upcoming period. He also stated that with reciprocal steps, the cooperation between the two countries would be elevated to a higher level.
The ongoing peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan was also on the agenda. President Erdoğan expressed his satisfaction with the progress made and underlined that Türkiye would continue to make constructive contributions to this process.
