Prevot: Attack on UNIFIL is unacceptable
Brussels, March 7 (Hibya) - Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot condemned the attack on UNIFIL peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon.
Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prevot condemned the attack on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon.
Stating that they stand in solidarity with the Ghanaian units, Prevot said: “The safety and security of peacekeeping soldiers must always be ensured.”
Prevot called on all parties to comply with international obligations, stating: “The November 2024 ceasefire agreement must be respected and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 must be observed.”
