Prevot: Belgium and the US Have Strong Friendship and Alliance Relations
Washington, January 7 (Hibya) - Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Maxime Prevot said that after his two-day visit to Washington, the relations between Belgium and the United States will continue to strengthen.
Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Prevot noted that Belgium and the United States have a strong, long-standing friendship and alliance relationship after completing his two-day visit to Washington DC.
During his visit, Prevot met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Deputy Secretary of State Landau, Secretary of Commerce Lutnick, US Trade Representative Greer, Under Secretary of Defense Colby, National Security Advisor Assistant Baker, and Senator Shaheen.
Prevot began his visit by paying tribute to the US soldiers who died for Europe's freedom at Arlington National Cemetery, emphasizing that this sacrifice would never be forgotten.
He also mentioned that he closely examined the activities of the National Targeting Center, which works closely with Belgian police and customs officials, and expressed that his discussions had further strengthened the cooperation between the two countries.
Prevot mentioned common interests in foreign policy, trade, and defense, adding that openly expressing differences is part of maintaining a healthy and strong relationship.
He concluded by stating that he shared his evaluations of the meetings with the Atlantic Council and that new cooperation pathways to deepen transatlantic ties would be discussed in the near future.
