Shaheen calls on Germany to recognize the State of Palestine
Ramallah, August 14 (Hibya) - Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Farsin Aghabekian Shaheen, received the new Head of the State of Palestine's Representative Office to the Federal Republic of Germany, Anke Schlemm, and accepted her credentials.
Shaheen emphasized that Germany’s recognition of the State of Palestine would be an important step toward realizing the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and establishing an independent Palestinian state, and is the only way to implement the two-state solution.
He also stressed the necessity for the international community, especially influential countries like Germany, to act immediately to end the war of extermination against the Palestinian people, lift the blockade, ensure the urgent and safe delivery of humanitarian aid, and create the necessary conditions for launching a serious reconstruction process.
For her part, Schlemm reaffirmed her country’s commitment to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and enhancing opportunities for peace, highlighting the need to strengthen bilateral relations and broaden the horizons of cooperation.
