Prime Minister Starmer stated that everyone in the country must feel safe.

He noted that after the terrorist attack in Manchester two weeks ago, he personally witnessed the fear within the Jewish community and promised to do everything possible to guarantee them the security they deserve. “It began with a more visible police presence, and today we are providing additional funding to strengthen security around synagogues and religious schools,” said Starmer.

Starmer added that more must be done, saying: “Fighting hatred and extremism in our society is a challenge for our whole country. Combating this evil is everyone’s duty, and I am determined that my government will miss no opportunity to protect Jewish people in every area of life.”
