Finnish President Alexander Stubb received the Freedom House Leadership Award during a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace. Following the award ceremony, Stubb also met with Freedom House Chief Executive Officer Jamie Fly.

Stubb noted that the award had been presented to Finland earlier this year in recognition of the country's principled leadership and commitment to defending freedom, democracy and human rights. He expressed his honor at receiving the recognition.

In his statement, Stubb said, "I am deeply honored to receive this recognition from a respected organization dedicated to advancing freedom and democracy around the world."
