Kyiv, July 14 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha commented on the opening of "Cluster 6 - External Relations" at the Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) as part of Ukraine's European Union accession negotiations.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha commented on the opening of "Cluster 6 - External Relations" at the Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) within the framework of Ukraine's European Union accession negotiations.
In a statement posted on social media, Sybiha said the development sends an important message that Ukraine is steadily advancing on its path toward European Union membership.
Expressing his gratitude to the European Commission, the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and the member states for their support, Sybiha said their leadership and solidarity had made an important contribution to reaching this milestone.
Recalling that Chapter 31 within Cluster 6 falls under the reform responsibilities of Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sybiha said that in recent years Ukraine's foreign policy has reached a 99 percent alignment with the European Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy.
He noted that this level of alignment provides a strong foundation for the rapid progress of the negotiations, emphasizing that Ukraine remains committed to continuing reforms and achieving full alignment with the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy.
Sybiha said they expect the remaining negotiation clusters to be opened as soon as possible, adding: "Together, we are building a stronger and safer Europe."
