Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said, “Today in Nicosia, I held a very comprehensive meeting with my Cypriot counterpart Kombos in the framework of President Zelensky’s visit to Cyprus.”

Sybiha expressed his satisfaction with the participation of the Ukrainian delegation, led by Zelensky, in the official opening of Cyprus’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU). During the meeting, the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency were discussed, and the importance of having Ukraine’s EU accession process at the top of the agenda was emphasized. Sybiha underlined the importance of opening negotiation clusters in 2026 and stated that Cyprus’s role in this process is critical.

The latest developments in the peace process were also discussed in detail; Ukraine’s approach and proposals, the leading role of the U.S. and Europe in peace efforts, pressure on Russia, and strong security guarantees for Ukraine were addressed.

Bilateral cooperation was particularly evaluated in the areas of security and defense, the joint use of EU instruments, and Cyprus’s role in strengthening European security. Ukraine’s reconstruction, energy resilience, humanitarian support, sanctions policy, and the use of frozen Russian assets for defense and restoration were also discussed.

Sybiha said, “Ukraine sees Cyprus as a reliable partner and looks forward to strengthening bilateral cooperation, supporting EU unity, and moving towards lasting peace during the Cypriot Presidency.”
