Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha thanked the United Kingdom and UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper for the new and robust sanctions announced against Russia. He stated that restrictions targeting key oil companies, financial institutions, and individuals and entities involved in the aggression increase pressure on the aggressor and support Ukraine.

Sybiha emphasized that these steps represent strong and necessary decisions under current conditions, expressing appreciation for the UK’s determined leadership. The statement noted that the UK announced 24 new sanctions targeting Russia’s war economy and oil sector, affecting four of Russia’s largest oil companies, and disrupting illicit networks involved in Russian oil trade and military supply chains.
