Syria condemns tanker attacks in the Strait of Hormuz
Damascus, July 8 (Hibya) – Syria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks on Saudi and Qatari oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that the incident threatens international maritime security and regional stability.
The Syrian Arab Republic issued a statement regarding the attack on two oil tankers belonging to Saudi Arabia and Qatar while they were transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, Syria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates described the attack as "a violation of international law and the freedom of maritime navigation," calling it an unacceptable act that threatens the security and stability of the region.
The statement noted that Syria stands in solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Qatar and rejects all actions targeting the security, sovereignty, and vital interests of states.
Syria called on the international community to intensify efforts to preserve regional security and stability and to ensure the safety of international maritime routes.
