Trump administration discussed possible attack options against Iran
Washington, 10 January (Hibya) – It was reported that officials of U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration conducted preliminary assessments on how a potential military strike against Iran could be carried out. U.S. officials stressed that the talks were part of routine planning.
According to the Wall Street Journal, officials in the Trump administration held preliminary discussions on how a possible military operation could be implemented to act on President Donald Trump’s threats toward Iran.
U.S. officials said the discussions also addressed potential military targets in Iran, including the option of a large-scale airstrike against numerous Iranian military targets.
An official cited in the report said no agreement has been reached and there has been no movement of military equipment or personnel to prepare for an attack. Officials also emphasized that these assessments are part of “routine scenario planning” and do not indicate an imminent strike on Iran at this stage.
