Ukraine: Homes, schools and everyday living areas targeted once again
Zaporizhzhia, 17 December (Hibya) – Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that at least 26 civilians were injured in Russian air strikes on the city of Zaporizhzhia and its surroundings.
In a statement, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Russia carried out a series of air strikes against the city of Zaporizhzhia and the region. The statement noted that at least 26 civilians were injured and that the number of wounded could increase.
The attacks reportedly damaged apartment buildings and detached houses, as well as an educational institution and critical infrastructure, with fires breaking out at various locations. Emergency teams were said to be rescuing people from under the rubble and continuing their field operations together with volunteers.
The statement stressed that areas where civilians live were targeted, saying: “Homes, schools and everyday living areas were targeted once again.” Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that ending the war is only possible through a strong international response and holding those responsible to account.
