Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha meets South African counterpart Lamola
Kyiv, April 24 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a meeting with South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola.
Sybiha stated that he held a separate bilateral meeting with Lamola during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s historic visit to South Africa.
He noted that they continue their excellent dialogue and said, “I briefed Minister Lamola on Ukraine’s peace efforts and steps toward peace, including recent meetings in Paris and London. We want to end this war this year, and we are working with our partners to achieve that.”
Sybiha said they discussed in detail how to advance the mutually beneficial bilateral partnership between Ukraine and South Africa, and expressed willingness to expand cooperation in all areas, including food security, agricultural technology, education, and digitalization.
He also emphasized the importance of South Africa’s G20 presidency, stating, “We support the priorities of greater equity in global governance and the increased relevance of Africa’s development agenda.”
