UN World Food Programme: Emergency aid in Gaza increased
New York, October 14 (Hibya) – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) announced that it has accelerated its aid operations for families in urgent need in Gaza amid the deepening humanitarian crisis.
According to a WFP statement, 137 aid trucks carrying food and nutrition supplies entered the region. It was also noted that more than 170,000 metric tons of food, enough to feed two million people, are ready for shipment.
The statement said: “A lasting ceasefire is vital to continue efforts to fight hunger and save lives in Gaza.”
