UNRWA: Population in Gaza Strip at risk of famine
New York, May 13 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has announced that due to 19 months of conflict, mass displacement, and restrictions on humanitarian aid, the population in the Gaza Strip is facing a critical risk of famine.
In its statement, UNRWA emphasized that families like Um Al Abed’s have been displaced multiple times and can no longer meet their basic needs. The agency called for the lifting of blockades and the urgent delivery of aid to prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the region.
