Lazzarini: If aid doesn't arrive, people will die of hunger, not bombs
New York, May 13 (Hibya) – UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini warned in an interview with the BBC that a major disaster would occur if humanitarian aid fails to reach Gaza.
Lazzarini stated, “If aid does not arrive in the coming weeks, people will no longer die from bombs, but because they have no food. This is the use of humanitarian aid as a weapon.”
The UN official stressed that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is rapidly deteriorating, and that blocking aid deliveries directly threatens the lives of civilians.
