WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus thanks the Vatican
Geneva, May 13 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed his appreciation for the visit of Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, to WHO headquarters.
During the visit, the contribution of elderly individuals to societies and the importance of improving their access to health services were discussed.
Dr. Tedros emphasized that maintaining the quality of life for older people is vital for the sustainable development of societies, stating, “We agreed on the need to invest in primary healthcare services to achieve this goal.”
He also said he was impressed by the Vatican-supported “Thank You Doctor!” campaign.
