U.S. sanctions ICC judges
Washington, December 18 (Hibya) – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced sanctions against two judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC) over what he described as “politicized and illegitimate” actions against Israel.
Secretary Rubio stated that the Trump administration imposed sanctions on two ICC judges who played a direct role in “politicized and illegitimate actions against Israel.” He said: “The United States has made its position clear and will continue to respond with significant and tangible consequences to the ICC’s attempts to exert pressure through the law, abuse its authority, and openly disregard the sovereignty of the United States and Israel.”
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar commented on the decision, saying: “Thank you, Secretary of State Rubio, for this moral and clear stance.”
