US stock markets ended the trading session in negative territory. All major indices closed lower, with the technology-heavy Nasdaq indices posting the sharpest losses.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) fell by 130.76 points (0.25%) to close at 52,925.15.

The S&P 500 index declined by 33.58 points (0.45%) to 7,503.85.

The technology-heavy Nasdaq Composite lost 302.47 points (1.16%) to end at 25,818.69, while the Nasdaq 100 dropped 524.86 points (1.77%) to 29,173.02.

The Russell 2000 index, which tracks small-cap companies, also fell by 27.05 points (0.90%) to 2,982.49.

As a result, all major US stock market indices ended the day with losses.
