Von der Leyen: We aim to do more in the fight against cancer
Brussels, June 8 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that significant progress has been made in cancer prevention and treatment and announced that the European Union aims to take further steps under its existing programs.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that promising developments are being achieved in the fight against cancer.
Von der Leyen stated that many types of cancer can now be prevented or successfully treated. In her statement, she said: “Many cancers that were once considered incurable can now be prevented or successfully treated. With our Beating Cancer Plan, we are working to achieve even more. Because our fight against cancer is about this: turning hope into reality.”
