Zelensky: Europe’s allocation linked to Russian assets is an unprecedented decision
Kyiv, December 20 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Europe’s decision to allocate 90 billion euros linked to Russian assets will affect peace talks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the allocation of 90 billion euros linked to Russian assets is unprecedented.
Zelensky said: “Europe’s allocation, in any case linked to Russian assets, is an unprecedented decision. This decision will also affect peace negotiations. Ukraine will be in a stronger position.”
Noting that the funds are allocated for the years 2026–2027, Zelensky added: “We aim to use the entire 210 billion dollars of Russian assets. We understand that interest-free loans will be repaid by Ukraine only if Russia pays compensation to Ukraine.”
Emphasizing the importance of the decision, Zelensky concluded: “This is not only a financial victory, but a major, tangible and significant victory.”
