Zelensky Meets with IMF Chief Georgieva
Kyiv, August 7 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva.
During the meeting, President Zelensky provided information on joint efforts to end the war as soon as possible, recent discussions with U.S. President Trump and European leaders, and the steps ahead.
He emphasized that they are doing everything to achieve an honorable and lasting peace: "It was important that the IMF sees that Ukraine, despite the war, is fulfilling all its obligations and implementing reforms. We discussed a new financial aid program that will strengthen Ukraine both now and in the post-war period. We are ready to take all necessary steps swiftly. The government is already working on it."
Zelensky also stated that additional defense funding was discussed, and various options are being evaluated.
