Zelensky: Russian assets should be used for Ukraine’s defense and reconstruction
Brussels, December 18 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said at the European Union (EU) Council meeting that it is legitimate to use frozen Russian assets for Ukraine.
Speaking at the EU Council meeting, President Zelensky stated that assets belonging to Russia should be used to defend Ukraine and to rebuild areas destroyed in the attacks.
Zelensky said: “If authorities seize the money of drug traffickers and the weapons of terrorists, then Russian assets should also be used to defend against Russian aggression and to rebuild what was destroyed by Russian attacks. This is moral, fair and legal.”
