Zelensky announced that he spoke with Chancellor Merz.

He noted that Ukraine and Germany share the view that the war must end as soon as possible with an honorable peace and that the parameters for ending the war will shape Europe’s security landscape for decades to come. “The war is happening in Europe, and Ukraine is an integral part of it; we are already negotiating EU membership. Therefore, Europe must be a participant in these processes,” he said.

Zelensky said they are coordinating positions with Germany:

“Today, Ukraine and all of Europe will participate in an online meeting of security advisors organized by the United States to align our common views. Yesterday, various possible leader-level meeting formats to achieve peace were also discussed.”

He concluded: “Ukraine is not afraid of meetings and expects the same courageous approach from the Russian side. The time has come to end the war.”
