Zelensky: We are ensuring a reliable natural gas supply for Ukrainians
Kyiv, January 29 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and Naftogaz CEO Sergii Koretskyi.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made statements regarding repair works and energy security following Russia’s attacks on energy infrastructure.
Providing information about his meeting with Naftogaz management, Zelensky said: “We began our meeting by discussing the consequences of Russia’s attacks on Ukraine’s oil and natural gas infrastructure and the repair process. Despite all difficulties, we are ensuring a reliable natural gas supply for Ukrainians. We continue imports in sufficient quantities, and supply routes have been significantly diversified.”
Referring to financial support and international cooperation, Zelensky added: “Yesterday, another agreement worth 50 million euros was signed with the European Investment Bank. The majority of the financial support is provided by the European Investment Bank and the EBRD. In addition, Naftogaz supports the entire system by importing electricity to cover more than 50 percent of its own consumption needs.”
