Authorities Discover Over a Million More Documents Related to the Epstein Case
Washington, December 25 (Hibya) - U.S. officials have announced that they have discovered over a million additional documents that could be related to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein and plan to release them in the coming days and weeks.
The FBI and federal prosecutors in New York reported the discovery to the Department of Justice.
The Department of Justice said on Wednesday, "Our attorneys are working around the clock to make the legally necessary censures to protect the victims, and we will release the documents as soon as possible."
The Department said that the release of all documents could take "several more weeks." The Department was under scrutiny because it had not released all of Epstein's files by the deadline of December 19 under a new law.
The Department continued, saying it would "fully comply with federal law and President Trump's directives on releasing the documents."
The statement did not clarify how the FBI and prosecutors from the Southern District of New York obtained additional material. Epstein died while awaiting trial in a New York jail, facing charges of sexual abuse of minors in the state.
This news comes after the Department of Justice published thousands of documents related to the Epstein investigations (some of which were heavily censored).
