Ghebreyesus met with Angolan President Lourenço
Geneva, 26 November (Hibya) – WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus met with the President of Angola, Joao Lourenço.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus congratulated Angolan President Lourenço for hosting the 7th African Union – European Union Summit.
He noted that they discussed Angola’s strong investments in its healthcare system, which provides free services to citizens, as well as the country’s commitment to the “Health for All” principle. “We also spoke about WHO’s work with member states to increase domestic health financing,” he added.
Ghebreyesus briefed Lourenço on WHO’s prioritization and restructuring process and its sustainable financing strategy.
