International Health Regulations enter into force
Geneva, September 19 (Hibya) - World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that the revised International Health Regulations (IHR) have officially entered into force.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus said that an important step had been taken to protect the world from future health risks.
Highlighting that the revised International Health Regulations have officially entered into force, Ghebreyesus said: “In light of the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health emergencies, countries worked together for two years to reach a consensus on these new measures.”
Ghebreyesus congratulated all countries on their determination to make the world healthier, safer, and fairer.
