Saar: Iran’s nuclear program is not for peaceful purposes
Jerusalem, September 19 (Hibya) - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said in a statement regarding the UN Security Council’s decision that Iran’s nuclear program is not aimed at peaceful purposes.
Saar stated that the UN Security Council decided to reimpose comprehensive sanctions on Iran, effective October 28.
Arguing that Iran’s nuclear program is not peaceful, Saar said: “A nuclear-armed Iran would mean the most dangerous regime possessing the most dangerous weapon, which would seriously undermine global stability and security.”
Saar added: “The international community’s objective must remain unchanged: to prevent Iran from ever acquiring nuclear capability.”
