Lahbib: We are ready to mobilize international support
Brussels, August 6 (Hibya) – European Union Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib said that they are closely monitoring the difficult forest fire situation in France’s Aude region.
Commissioner Lahbib stated that the EU is closely following the challenging forest fire situation in France’s Aude region.
Expressing solidarity with all those affected and the brave firefighters working to control the flames, she said, “The EU is ready to mobilize international support if needed.”
Lahbib noted that the EU has deployed firefighting assistance to Bulgaria, Greece, Cyprus, and other countries in recent weeks.
She added that the EU’s pre-positioned firefighters and rescue teams have made a real difference on the ground, protecting people and the environment. “Preparedness and European solidarity save lives!” she emphasized.
