The ministry’s statement called on journalists and associations around the world to unite and take action to protect Palestinian journalists from Israel’s assassination campaigns.

The statement noted that Israel is responsible for the longest-running massacre of journalists, adding: “Israel has deliberately provoked, targeted, and killed more than 230 journalists in Gaza.”

It emphasized that no journalist should be complicit in provoking and killing another journalist:

“Palestinian journalists are fulfilling their duties and, even in the most difficult circumstances, honor their profession with unmatched professionalism and commitment to the truth. They are heroes who should be honored, not vilified.”
