Zelensky: We are grateful to Norway for its long-term military support
Kyiv, December 19 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Norwegian Parliament, the Storting, has approved $8.2 billion in aid to Ukraine for 2026.
President Zelensky stated that the Storting approved $8.2 billion in aid to Ukraine for 2026.
Commenting on the decision, Zelensky said: “Today, the Storting approved $8.2 billion in aid to Ukraine for 2026. I thank Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, the Storting, and the entire Norwegian people for this.”
Emphasizing the importance of Norway’s support, Zelensky said: “We are grateful to Norway for its long-term military and civilian support; this support is an example of true leadership, commitment, and strategic reliability.”
Stating that these contributions strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities, Zelensky added: “Such contributions enhance Ukraine’s ability to counter Russian aggression and send a clear message to the Putin regime: Ukraine will continue to receive support from its allies and will be able to stop Russia and restore a lasting peace.”
Zelensky concluded his statement by saying: “Every such act of support is like a nail driven into the coffin of Russia’s plans to suffocate Europe in fear and inaction.”
