German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that Nicolas Maduro has led his country into ruin. “The last election was fraudulent. Therefore, like many other countries, we did not recognize his presidency,” Merz said, adding that Maduro plays a problematic role in the region.

Merz also stated:

“The legal assessment of the U.S. intervention is complex and requires careful examination. International law continues to serve as the guiding framework. At this stage, political instability in Venezuela must be prevented. The aim is to ensure an orderly transition to an elected government.”
