Prime Minister Carney: We are building a strong economy
Ottawa, January 26 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the launch of the “New Canada Food and Basic Needs Benefit” program, which will provide direct budgetary support to more than 12 million citizens.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney shared details of the new social assistance package.
Referring to the scope and financial impact of the program, Carney said: “We are launching the New Canada Food and Basic Needs Benefit program. Starting this year, this program will put hundreds of extra dollars into the pockets of more than 12 million Canadians.”
Highlighting the balance between long-term economic goals and short-term needs, Carney added: “We are building a strong economy, and some of the significant benefits this brings will take time to materialize. That is why we are ensuring that people have the support they need right now.”
