Amsterdam, 11 December (Hibya) – Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof met with leaders of the Volunteers' Coalition to discuss the latest developments in peace negotiations on Ukraine.
Prime Minister Schoof met with leaders of the Volunteers' Coalition to discuss the latest developments in peace talks on Ukraine. Finnish President Alex Stubb also joined the meeting via video conference during his state visit to the Netherlands.
Emphasizing that Ukraine continues to suffer from Russia’s attacks on civilian targets and energy infrastructure, Schoof said: “As Europe, we must accelerate, expand and secure our collective support for Ukraine in the long term.”
Schoof stressed that no decision regarding Ukraine should be made without Ukrainians, adding:
“It is also crucial that NATO and Europe remain closely involved and make decisions on issues that affect us, such as security guarantees, sanctions, and asset freezes. We must also continue our close cooperation with the United States.”
Finally, stating that Russia will sooner or later have to answer for its war crimes, Schoof said: “In this context, the Netherlands will host the Ukraine Compensation Commission Ministerial Conference next Tuesday.”
