Iran and Oman hold transit talks over the Strait of Hormuz
Iran announced that it is conducting talks with Oman on a transit mechanism aimed at ensuring safe passage and regional stability in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
According to CCTV, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the Strait of Hormuz is a critical transit point for international trade and said that ensuring safe navigation is among the core priorities of the country’s policies.
Baghaei noted that Iran is holding discussions with Oman regarding transit arrangements in the strait and that the process is ongoing.
Emphasizing that Iran harbors no hostility toward any country in the Middle East, Baghaei called on regional actors to remain cautious against external interventions.
Baghaei also stated that although no direct response had been received from the United States, indirect communication continues through Pakistan and channels of contact remain open.
