Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a statement regarding Russia’s energy infrastructure and economic situation.

Zelensky stated that in recent months Russia’s oil refinery capacity had decreased by approximately 10 percent and that oil companies had been forced to shut down some wells.

Pointing out that Russia’s budget deficit increased faster than planned during the first five months of the year, Zelensky said that the international pressure being applied was effective.

“Thanks to our comprehensive pressure at every level, Russia’s budget deficit has grown,” Zelensky said, emphasizing that this situation has an impact on the financing of the war.

President Zelensky also stated that Russia does not have unlimited war capacity and that pressure policies carried out together with international partners would contribute to ending the war.
